Granted, it never came down to them losing bowl games, but fans seemed to forget that when discussing his tenure.   On the other hand, Golden’s style and persona are a perfect match for the legion of Penn State fans.    The more buttoned-up head coach, who resembles a CEO rather than a gym teacher, will win fans over.

·       Other pluses on Al Golden’s resume that make him ideal for the job in State College.    He has experience coaching both sides of the ball. His wife is from Lock Haven.

Returning to State College should be an easy in-house conversation. Al happens to be born on the 4th of July.  Penn State marketing, alumni, and fans will enjoy promoting that human interest story.

Will Al Golden be the next head coach at Penn State?  I have no idea. But I do think he has an excellent resume for what they need. He also meets the fanbase’s expectations of their head coach. Considering him is undoubtedly a good idea.
